Happy April Fools week everybody! Did someone prank you bad? If so I'd love to hear the story!
Anyways, its about that time of the week folks! The Social Media post battle royal!
This week marks the one year anniversary of the Roc Nation music label spreading its wings and adding a sports section to the organization, Roc Nation Sports. Jay Z's Facebook page posted the images you see above as a tribute to their creation. First, I think this post has a lot of pathos included in it, because anniversaries are seen as very special moments in history that bring out many emotions for those who support it. The post also has a powerful hashtag "RocNationSports," which further promotes the post to many other people and appeals to those who happen to be looking up Roc Nation news.

Don't miss the grand Governors Ball Music Festival! This post is found on the J. Cole Facebook page and like before, the page has posted another online flyer to promote an event.  The post contains a bit of logos just by posting direct links for the convenience of its audience to not have to do any searching to find out more information about the event. The post itself is very eye appealing, the first thing someone would notice is the amount of famous musical groups/people who will also be attending during the 3 day festival, such as OutKast and Skrillex, which happen to be two complete different genres of music. So trust me folks, the crowd will be LARGE and wild.

Roc Nations twitter is also celebrating the one year anniversary of RocNationSports, sharing the same hashtag of the twitter but also @each one of RocNationSport's members! This tweet gained a lot of buzz from the logos of the @'s. It was a logical decision because all of the professional sport athletes tweeted back at the Roc Nation page, creating a lot of buzz from their followers as well. The 154 retweets and 76 favorites prove the current success of this tweet since Roc Nation alone usually does not get that many interactions with its fan base.

This week I believe the Roc Nation Twitter takes the cake. I really liked the logos found within the @'s to further promote itself while also just celebrating the creation of Roc Nation Sports with the athletes of Roc Nation as well as the fans/followers.

That's it for this week! See ya Later!

  1. You really effectively discussed the way that each brand utilized rhetorical appeals in order to enhance their posts It's interesting to see the overlap between the brands, and how they market their products differently. I think the use of hashtags and @ signs definitely allows a company to broaden its audience, which is a effective branding tactic.
